Single Shotgun Home Defense Safe
« on: January 07, 2016, 05:13:22 AM »
Hi Guys,

Looking for a solution to gun storage for a home defense shotgun. Have looked at the ShotLock but I think I'd prefer a wall safe or small gun safe. Just looking to talk out some solutions and thoughts.

Going to install in the bedroom, would be nice to fit into a closet as I pass it on the way to the bedroom door from the bed.

May end up going with a wall safe for a pistol as there are more options and easier concelment, but would prefer a shotgun in HD mode.

Thanks,

Colin

I need to get off my duff and move forward with getting one or two of these units installed.  tacticalwalls.com

Obviously not a safe or security device.  More an out of sight out of mind type thing.  Most of the smaller gun safes I've looked at would stand up to a knife blade but a decent screwdriver and your in.  Just an option if you are interested in going this route.

Thanks for the replies guys! Tacticalwalls.com is pretty awesome but for my purposes and with kids in the future would like to have a lock. I did and do like the ShotLock, but I think I'd like to have a little more concealment.

Been doing a little more searching on the web and found this from Stack On: https://www.stack-on.com/categories/security-safes--2/products/339

Looks like it will work nicely in a closet. Seems like it will keep curious hands out and open fast if necessary. Will post up once I've ordered and its installed.

The new wall safe showed up this past week and I got it in the wall over the weekend. Pretty happy with it. Has about 3 shelves that are removable. Fits cleanly with the wall and looks really nice installed.

Right now I have an OU in it till the waterfowl season is over. Then I'll mod my mossberg and buy a new semi for next season. Ended up putting it behind the bedroom door... didn't want to mess with moving clothes around in the closet if I ever need to get into it quick. Wife even approves!
