FYI not against SBR's as you put them, or Short barreled rifles. but to Ban possession of a machine gun in the same bill goes against how I feel is part of our second amendment right.
Meaning they want to allow SBR's=short barreled rifles that's ok with me don't care just don't ban something else that's already kind of banned without a NFA stamp to begin with.
Which I'm against anyhow. I think its an infringement and needs appealed.

I think you don't understand this bill. Machine guns are already illegal under Washington State law, nothing in the bill changes that.

This bill only changes the verbage about legalizing SBRs. It does not change anything else. Current law allows us to own SBRs, this bill would allow us to manufacture them also; nothing else changes. The strikethrough part here is the only change to an already existing law:

(2) It is not unlawful for a person to ((possess, transport, acquire, or transfer a short-barreled rifle that is legally registered and possessed, transported, acquired, or transferred in accordance))manufacture, own, buy, sell, loan, furnish, transport, or have in possession or under control, a short-barreled rifle, or any part designed or intended solely and exclusively for use in a short-barreled rifle or in converting a weapon into a short-barreled rifle, if the person is in compliance with applicable federal law.
Well then why the machine gun verbiage then? why not just make a bill allowing for the manufacture of SBR's alone?
But as for me I'm against the law that says people can't own machine guns to begin with as per already stated, and posted reasons. Which is why I am a GOA member.

after lots of thoughts and consideration, I've come to the conclusion that we've already lost the 2nd Amendment.  It is just a matter of time before everyone realizes it and laws are changed to reflect what has already come to pass.

you simply can not have a "right" that people allow exceptions for from their very own government.  By our constitution, "rights" are given to us by our creator.  The moment you allow government to put conditions on those so called "rights", it s that moment you have given up that right because government will always push for more and more limits.

I've read lately some of the laws governing who is and who isn't allowed to own a gun or "carry" one per each state.  In reality, a huge percentage of the population has already had their rights removed, even if they don't know it.  there are so many laws and restrictions people have already been conditioned to accept, it is only a matter of time before they write more laws that people accept.

in short, if you accept small limitations on your rights, you'll accept more small ones.  death by a 1000 cuts comes to mind.

I agree.

However, I also think someone voting against a gun bill just because it doesn't include their pet cause, like abolishing the NFA, is about as intelligent as a temper tantrum. You do have to pick your battles.

Gun owners of America is the only non compromising gun lobby's out there.
http://www.gunowners.org/
For the ones who think that removing NFA isn't the wrong thing to do go there and have a look. they even have a page dedicated to just that repealing the Machine gun ban.
Accepting any infringements, because of what it does, or might do is just a step towards what the liberals want to do then. :twocents:

You're still ignoring the facts. The SBR bill above is not "accepting any infringements" that aren't already in place. It legalizes Form 1 SBRs. That is all, it has nothing to do with machine guns or any other part of the NFA. Why would you vote against it?
