It's fun....  When I remember I send email to WDFW district where I'm hunting ... one other thing I do is leave a piece of paper on my windshield saying out coyote hunting any questions call..... and I leave a cell number.  haven't had issues

I think it's fun, never had any problems with law enforcements. I too leave a note on my dash. I also make sure I have a topographical and Satallite map of the area to make sure I have a safe backdrop for my shots.

It's because people hear gunshots, call the cops, and the last thing you need is a trigger happy cop with his gun drawn in the wilderness at night looking for an excuse to shoot because he doesn't know what is going on.

I watched a show with some guys hunting over bait at night. They put a post on each side of the bait and put a driveway dinger on the post. They would then sit on the speaker to muffle the ding when a dog got on the bait. the ding would wake the guy up and let him know it was time to kick on his light. Happy Hunting

Sitting out in a field shining a spotlight around late at night is going to attract attention. Cop walks in to see what is up and ruins your stand.
