How come you guys aren't out Elk huntin'??  I sure as hell would be if I didn't have an Archery tag.

Freezer is full, all five of them.  I took 4 weeks off in November to hunt with Dad and take pics.  I figured I might as well work.  I hear you though, Even if its Spike only, I wish I was on the mountain.

I gotta say I really like this site too! some of the other sites I used to frequent had long-timers who flamed you for almost anything you posted if you didn't have at least 1000 posts to your credit, like being on-line all the time makes you smarter about how to hunt, shoot or whatever. & I am accompanying my daughter since I have archery tag, my wife went out with us this morning but she worked all day and was too tired to go with us this evening. we didn't see any elk since there were deer hunters in our midst yesterday, but we're having fun and my 11 year-old is having a blast anyway. she just keeps saying that "too bad it wasn't elk season four days ago when that spike was standing right in front of us!"

sorry Jackelope if you resemble that remark! but I just meant others on other sites that do, they even referenced someone's post count as evidence of his lack of knowledge. like saying a lawyer doesn't know about the law since he just joined the board. I myself spend a good bit of time here because I like this site, informative, friendly, OUR neighborhood. I haven't got much chance to hunt the wet side but living over that way when I went to school I am familiar with the areas others talk about. that makes it easier for me to have more interest in the story. a LOT of good people here too!
