I use bait
most guys are using big rapala

The fly guys are using big streamer patterns

we caught one yesterday that had a rapala in the side of its face, broke somebody off

Why don't you have a replica made, you have enough info and a photo, that's all they need. When I start doing fish I am going for all replicas, they don't deteriorate like skin mounts.

My grandfather lived on the Yellowstone River and when the river is muddy the big rainbows congregate right below the outfall from a culvert from a certain pond that will remain nameless for obvious reasons. The water coming out of the outfall was full of worms and grubs and the fish would feed by taste or smell, I think, anyway it was pretty much just going down and tossing in a night crawler on those days to get a nice big fish for grandpa's dinner. P.O.ed the guys who had flown in to fly fish that I was catching big fish like that to eat, but I told them that they are our fish, don't tell us what to do with our fish, you should feel lucky that we let you guys exercise them for us.
