The fishing has been slow, if you do some research on Hood Canal Blackmouth which are chinook you can find areas around Seabeck, Hazel Pt. Seal Rock etc. They like to feed on the bottom and coyote, Coho Killer, type spoons work great as does herring. Be careful as this time of year the tides and wind can make this Canal turn nasty in a second.
Are you planning on fishing from the beach or a boat?Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
You could launch next to yelvics (sp) and fish the point at Jackson cove. I would try a white point Wilson jig fished just off the bottom. That's if you can't troll or row fast enough to effectively fish a spoon or cut plug herring. I would be more than happy to take a couple people out for the day if it the weather and my schedule works out when your in town. I have fished the area a lot the last 10 years. that's a great offer I would definitely take him up on that, your going to find it very difficult to catch fish from what you described. went out yesterday and got 4, to bad crabbing is closed now.
