Pretty bear and great looking tom! To bad he was not fair game.

He'll be bigger when season opens for cats!

There sure were a lot of bears killed over in your area this year Dale. Was this a better than average season or is it always this good? I know I only hunted 3 full days and saw 3 bears. There sure is a lot of tree damage on the back side of the 49 degree N ski area. Do you ever Hunt down that way?
I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I'm not!

A few mild winters in a row have greatly increased the bear population, there are a lot of small bear. I was worried last fall, bear were skinny, if it had been a hard cold winter at least half would have died, instead we had a mild winter that wasn't so hard on them and bear were out eating a full month earlier than usual. I've hunted the entire unit, there's hardly a mountain on public ground in NE WA that I haven't been on. Tree damage is spotty, but I saw more this year than I've ever seen over here.
