New member with a new pup
« on: April 24, 2016, 09:45:28 AM »
Hey y'all, I'm Brian. I just recently joined this board looking for both more information about bird dogs and to find some folks to meet. I live between Bothell and Lynnwood. I am rather new to upland hunting and never gone waterfowl hunting, though I'm planning on changing that this year.

My pup is a small Munsterlander named Blaise. He is about 14 weeks old right now and I'm waiting on the last round of puppy shots before I can let him run around with other dogs. I'm hoping to find a few people near me that I can learn from as this is my first bird dog (and my first dog in general).

I can't seem to post with an attachment.  :(

Are you looking for pointing or retrieving or both?

I tried uploading an attachment but it would fail creating the post. Let's see if I can add an attachment now that the topic has been created. Nope, any tips on adding image attachments?

Regarding pointing versus retrieving: I'm thinking about focusing on pointing with retrieving as a secondary focus. I'm mostly interested in finding the birds first. :)

Not too many SM kennel's around, where is your dog from? If you're keen, there is a 'loose' group of us from the metro area that have versatiles and mostly follow the NAVHDA process. May is a busy month with the local club running a couple of events, but after that is done we'll be back to training in the area. You're welcome to join in if you'd like.

I picked him up from Herzcoff Kennels in Powel Butte, OR.

I am interested in NAVHDA and joining up for some training. Thanks for the offer. Should I just watch here for details?
