454 casull Powder?
« on: May 05, 2016, 05:14:42 PM »
Other thread on lil gun was a bust so lets try a more specific question.....LOL

Anyone hand load 454 casull?  If so what is your powder of choice with a 325 ish grain hard cast?  Primary use is packing in the woods as a bear stopper...but would like the opportunity to one day take a deer, elk and possible bear with it.  Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

H 110 and Win 296 are nearly identical and hard to beat in magnum revolvers. Ramshot Enforcer is a good one too. Don't over look the effectiveness of a heavy bullet at moderate velocity. A 395gr bullet at 1100 fps will go end to end on most critters without beating you up too much.
