Had a girl Vegas tell me that once... not quite sure what she meant?

Hope you pick one up... that'd be 4 of them owned by guys on the site, built pretty much the same. I went the opposite direction as you guys on glass though. I'm mounting up a 3.5-10 w/M-1 turret on mine, in Talley's. I shot a 4.5-14 Leupold on it last year... but I've decided to consolodate glass. I also replaced the current stock with the old style Sendero stock and went with light-weight rings... mine weighs almost two pounds less than antlershed's (my buddy has the exact same set-up as 'shed). It's trully addicting to launch that big a projectile and pay such a small price on the butt-end of the rifle.

How much did that stock run ya,

Pretty much a straight up swap for with the one that came on it. I sold the Sendero II stock, and bought the old style stock. The old stock is a lot more like a sporter stock, no palm swell and less vertical in the grip area, smaller in the butt area, much smaller beavertail forend, etc. Nothing wrong with the new one... mine shot great, I just like the other one because it feels just like the stock on my .25-06 (also an HSP).

I'm pretty convinced that 14x is all you'll ever need... even out to 1200 yards which is the furthest I've run mine. 20x is cool... but I don't think it's very practical anywhere but the bench. Like I said... I'm dropping down to 10x... and I don't think I'll have any problems on the 20"x20" gong that I typically shoot out to 1k. It may cost me a little in group size... but I don't think I'll be giving anything up in the hitting schitt department.

They're sweet man... especially when you get handloading some of the super slick bullets like the 208 Amax and the 210 Berger. Mine likes the Berger with Retumbo at about 3150... my buddy shoots the Amax (also with Retumbo) at about the same velocity. Some worry about shooting "match" bullets at big game... I don't have a problem with it. Here's a 208 Amax recovered under the off hide of a 250 pound black bear shot at 553 yards this year... he went right down. The lead was still in the bullet... but fell out when the bullet was removed from the hide. Broke a couple of ribs on both sides... and the clockwork looked like about 3 gallons of raspberry jam.
