Scope mounting help

Ok guys I'm finally ready to put everything together for this project. I have a tikka t3 lite in 30-06, bell and Carlson stock, vortex viper 4-16x50 pst, and dnz game reaper one piece mediums. I have lapped the rings and am ready to instal the scope. My question is is there anything special I need to do to mount this scope? This is my first scope with exposed turrets. I want to the best job I can and really take my time with it as I hope to do some longer range target shooting with it. Thanks in advance.

I used the above the other day and it worked great. 

Gunsmith also advised one drop of blue loctite on each half ring (upper and lower) as well as the screws.

Make sure the cross hairs are level.

Geting the reticle level is always a huge,producion for me, for some reason

Pretty much need a reticle leveling tool like one of Wheelers and an inch lb torque driver to torque screws to ring and base mfgs specs.

Thanks for the help everyone. I got her leveled torqued and ready to roll all I need to do now is go shoot her.

Use a level level level and a fat wrench and follow the directions and you will be fine!

I line bore my rings. have been for awhile now. It really makes a difference. I use the Wheeler kit.
Getting the recital square is crucial but if your rings aren't on the same axis you put weird pressures on the tube when you tighten the rings down.

Tikka's are fine shooting rifles.  Now you just need a bubble level that's perfectly level with your reticle & bore and you're ready for some fun.

Out of curiosity, what do you consider longer range shooting?  Also, why did you select those particular rings?

Out of curiosity, what do you consider longer range shooting?  Also, why did you select those particular rings?

I consider 600 plus longer range shooting. I chose these rings because I like one piece rings and they seem to have good reviews.

Even with the leveling kit, it's surprising at how much a little torque can twist the scope.  It took my a while to get it perfect.  Ended up getting another rifle and got vertical rings and it didn't twist at all.

I have DNZ rings on just about all my newer rifles.  The few older ones I went period correct.  DNZ's are great and you really don't have to lap them.  Get a Fat Wrench to torque and levels as shown above or variations.  For me, after doing so many, I can pretty much get right on after getting the right eye relief then just slightly tighten the rings only enough to gently hold the scope, then slowly adjust and tighten to specs.
