Kryptek Camo Stock
« on: May 26, 2016, 04:14:53 PM »
Been meaning to try a kryptek camo job for quite a while. Finally got around to getting it done after the paint and stencils sat around for over a year.

Nice!  Where'd you get the idea/stencils?

I seen a picture of a stock somewhere and decided it'd be pretty neat to try painting one myself. I watched YouTube videos and thought about how I was going to do the layering and colors for quite a while. The deer was something I came up with myself. I did the base coat and deer stencil and then it all sat for over a year still a little unsure of how exactly I was going to do it. One evening I decided I was just going to get it done. I went to town applying the stencils then started painting.  While painting I wasn't so sure it was going to turn out that well. In the end I was surprised how well it turned out (I'm not artistic at all).

If I was going to do it again I think I would use something a little finer to apply the paint than a mini hvlp gun.

Think I got all the stencils off eBay and used duracoat paint.

That's pretty sweet. I like it, a lot.
