just curious on how much a mini 14 ranch rifle costs. i really want to get one before it gets banned but havent had time to hit up the gun shops to look at prices. i just bought a taurus 1911 but kinda wish i would have bought a mini 14 instead. thanks

They vary. A LOT. I'd say the base ones go around $500-$600.

Here's a link. These are MSRP's though. They are not what you'd pay at a store.

I have only shot one of these once, but it was years ago. Such a fun gun. Out of curiosity, why would they get banned?

good luck finding a basic one...they flew off the shelves when obama won the election...you can still get em, just the fancier target and laminated models....

i bought one last year from bi-mart it was the stainless steal synthetic stock ranch rifle. $729 included scope mounts and cleaning kit. they are much more accurate than the older models at 200 yards i had 1 in groups. killed most my coyotes with it last year. fun gun!

Mini's are great guns.  The ranch rifle is more accurate with sporting rounds 50-55 because it has a slower twist barrel.  Ruger 14's have three different twist rates, and Ruger doe not know when they changed.  So just check the rate on the gun you buy if you go with a standard mini.  Then match the bullet to the twist and they shoot pretty darn good.   This is the reason most complain about the accuracy is because they don't match bullet to twist on these.

I sold one about a year ago for $450 :bash: Then happened to see what the new ones were going for. Wish I still had it.
