need to fill factory dovetail on marlin 1895.
« on: August 03, 2016, 08:07:29 AM »
I bought a peep sight set for my marlin guide gun, that bolts to the receiver scope mount location, but now am left with a stock sight dovetail that needs to be filled in, is there anything off the shelf that would accomplish this, or does it need to go to a smith to have a plug made?

I wont have time to take it in and get it back before bear season, so im looking for something that could even be temporary, I had even though of cutting the stock sight tangs off, and using the base as a plug of sorts.  :dunno:

My Winchester 1894 has lead hammered into the blank dovetail :dunno:

I received it that way from my Grandfather.
