Deer Blinds

So I have a cast on my lower leg that will come off the 2nd of September and the doc says I will be either able to walk or walk with aid of a walking boot. My brother got a tent-like deer blind for me in exchange for using my tree stand. I just want to hear from people who have used deer blinds or know people who do who can help me with the following questions.

1) Do you stay in the blind all day, or just morning/evening?
2) Do you use bait to get them to come in?
3) What type of chair is best?
4) Do you shoot standing or sitting?
5) How will deer react to the sight of the blind?
6) Will mules react differently than whites around the blind--I am in a mixed species unit?

Also if there is any other information about hunting from these that might help me that would be great! Best of luck fellas!

I bought an Ameristep Chair Blind in the Bargain cave.  It works pretty well.  I sit in it on and off usually in mornings and evenings.  I like having it as a supplement to my tree stands, since you are in a cast you will probably be trapped in it all day I guess.  But it is not all that bad to sit for hours.

I've hunted in a pop up blind a couple of times. For me the cons outweighed the pros.
Pros: good concealment, keeps weather off, portable

Cons: difficult to see 360 degrees, much heavier than setting a natural blind, big and unnatural looking, can get pretty warm in the early season. Not as portable as a natural blind (blowdown, branches, etc.) shooting from inside can be problematic.

I've killed plenty of deer from my blinds. Both rifle and archery. I sit usually mornings and evenings in early season but have had good luck on 10am-2pm sits because that's when a certain buck was cruising through.late season durin the rut I try and sit all day when possible and have killed a few bucks right about noon.  I haven't had the blind affected deer movements in any way unless it was set right in their trail. But backed into brush hasn't been an issue at all.

Practice shooting out of it now. I only did this one year but opening morning I couldn't figure out how to shoot out of it so I packed it back to camp and launched a few dozen arrows. It's awkward but doable with a plan.

Thanks to everyone for the advice! It sucks that I won't get up into the high country but it's better than not hunting at all! I also have the multi-season so maybe i'll get into a tree stand early October.
