I'm looking for advice on Sinlahekin Area bear
« on: August 28, 2016, 10:43:50 AM »
My buddy has invited me to go deer hunting in the Sinlahekin this year. His camp has the place dialed in for the modern deer season. Guys have set up cams to watch deer and have seen bear on their cams. Thats good news.

We thought I'd be a good idea for me to go up there and scout the area and get the lay of the land. I'm stoked because I will know area and possibly have a better chance of scoring a big muley.

I picked up some calls from this year from RR calls.

I read No bait, Just Bears last year.

Thanks to those guys.

Anyhow, I was wondering if anyone has any advice for this area for bear? We will be in the area for 4 days. So we have time to move around and cover some ground. Should we be looking on northfacing slopes for berries? Lowlands? Near large water sources?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Are you going during Modern firearm deer or earlier?

the bears are all over just look around you'll find one. if you see a white 2014 tundra with a canopy and a blooddeck sticker in the back window flag me down Ill point you in the right direction. I will be in that area Wednesday  to Thursday seeing family. good luck.

That area gets pounded pretty good by a ton of people for deer. Unless u draw the late tag except seeing a ton of orange opening day. Good luck. By chance you where camp is at? i have hunted that area sense I was a I little kid. So I know it really well.
