Deer rifle for first year hunting

Bought my first rifle a Savage 110 7mm rem mag about 10 years ago from Big 5 and it's still my go to hunting rifle. Only thing I've done to it is a muzzle brake and scope.

Not too sure how ready you are to purchase a rifle but there are 2 or 3 budget 30-06s in the classifieds right now with the tikka/Nikon combo for 450 bucks being one I would seriously consider being a proven shooter ready to go. Good luck
