While there will be no fishing this year due to salmon season closures, we will be celebrating our Nations' Veterans by hosting our 4th Salmon for Soldiers Culminating Event at the Port of Everett Marina (rain or shine) this Saturday, September 17, 2016.
The Event is fast approaching and we are looking forward to hosting our veterans that pre-registered plus captains and crew who volunteered to take out our veterans fishing.
A highlight of this year event is honoring a fallen warrior - we are remembering SSG Larry Rougle (KIA October 23, 2007 in Afghanistan). Each year, Silver Horde graciously produces a limited edition Memorial Collector Series lure for Salmon for Soldiers. For 2016, Silver Horde produced "The Rougle" memorial lure. Initial tests in Puget Sound and Craig Alaska indicate this spoon produces. We will be giving away The Rougle to veterans and volunteer captains to honor this fallen hero!
For the 2017 Spoon, Hunt Wa is going to get a surprise that will be announced after this years event on Saturday.
As with last year’s event, we have some unbelievable prizes and raffle items including a boat, motor and trailer package donated by Kitsap Marina, Lund, Evinrude and EZ Loader.
