I'm on the fence about hitting up the Clockum for the last couple days of the season.  I was in the middle of the zoo opening weekend, unfortunately couldn't close the deal and missed a couple of cows.  Entirely my fault, and has already/will leave a bad taste in the mouth for the next 51 weeks. 
I guess I might be asking more about recent reports than anything.  I would have to take some vacation time to do it and I don't have much left for the year.  It would also mean convincing the wife its worth it.  It is my fourth year archery hunting and i'm still in search of my first kill.  This is the first year i've actually gotten to shoot at an elk and i'm anxious to right my wrongs.
I know most of us are in the camp, "a day in the field is better than a day at work." but it will cost me and i'm weighing the risk and trying to be reasonable.
Anyone been up there recently and can advise?  I know the elk split after opening weekend and am wondering if they have/will resume somewhat normal activity since its been a little more than a week.  Or is that wishful thinking and they won't actually herd back up until after the seasons are over?

Or you can save your vacation and hit the late season.  Either way its going to be a zoo.  Its the Clockum
