Fishing charters in Puget Sound area, preferably head boats.
« on: October 31, 2016, 06:46:43 AM »
Hey all, heading out to western Washington in May or June of 2017 and wanted to get some fishing in with my girlfriend while we're visiting. I looked at regulations and for someone who doesn't know the area I'm so confused! I'm looking for a head boat for honestly any kind of fish in the Puget sound area. Preferably within an hour and a half of Tacoma. Thanks for any info!

if you want to fish the sound lingcod and Hallibut are going to be the only games in town. And Hallibut fishing is only a couple days outta the year so you'd be lucky to have overlap and also lucky to get on a bot as they fill up fast for Hallibut days. You'd be better off fishing for rockfish/Hallibut/lings off of coast off a charter boat. Puget sound is terrible and very limited for opportunities when compared to the coast. Springer fishing gets going and they are best eating fish in world on the Columbia river. Less intense fishing then on the coast. But again this state is like a box of chocolates season opening and closures are hard to predict. Especially late in the season for springers. You could be booked and ready to go and the state could close the season the next day. Hallibut days are generally more set in stone. Good luck may my favorite month for fishing in this state.
