Buddy had one. Cool concept but didn't hold up very well. Been a few years.

Good scope for the money. Field of view is a lil narrow. Have used one for years.  Circles out to 1000 yards - find one that matches animals body height and shoot.  18" circles match deer body or elk nose to ear tips.  Problem is out past 500 yards gets hard to tell which circle for sure. Better than boone and crocket reticle when paired with rangefinder.  Past 500 yards works fine with even yardages 500, 600, 700 etc. but holding between marks is just sketchy like all reticle aiming systems.  Taking a second shot in a hurry and trying to hold between marks at say 550 yards is challenging.  Ive gone to turrets on my rifles.

For the price you should look at the Quigley Ford Scopes.  Very simlar concept and comparable prices.  They get great reviews too.

Love the cds system. Last week buddy dropped a 360 bull at 650 yards - just dialed and shot 300 wsm. One shot kill. My son took a 50"* moose at 380 yards same story.  Both leupld cds dead center hits.  Set it to 200 yards normally and forget it unless shots over 250 yards. Depending on turret and caliber marks go out to 750 +

have a buddy with a shepherd on his 300 weatherby mag.
he has taken elk consistently out past 700-800 yards with it.

he seems to like it.

i hunt with a muzzleloader or bow mostly..so im a scope dumby.
i do have a vx3 3.5-10 CDS on my 30-06 that I love for what its worth.

Shepard scopes were a big deal 20 years ago when they were the latest and greatest. Now days, that technology has been greatly surpassed. :twocents:
