Here is the story to the pictures:

It was 1983, my dad and I both drew Margaret tags – we went up the day before to scout, seen some nice bulls all by themselves and then we spotted this nice herd later in the afternoon with 7 bulls in the bunch and we decided to go in on them the next morning.

Got up the next morning, had breakfast and at daylight they were still in the same spot.  At the time we spotted our bulls we weren’t even aware of the other group of hunters.  From my memory, I think they shot first shot and split the herd up.  And then dad and I shot.  We each shot twice and once all the shooting was over, all the bulls were down within a 100 yard radius.  It ended up that we knew the other group of hunters, they were from the Lewis County area too!  We all worked together in getting our animals taken care of.  We loaded up our 2 bulls, whole into the back of my Chevy ½ ton short box pick-up – what a load!

6 bulls were taken in all and 1 bull got away.  I don’t think I’ll ever see hunting like that again in a lifetime.

Then you’re not gonna believe this but my dad and I drew Margaret tags together again in 1986.  Neither time did we put in as partners – both times we drew separate tags!  We’ll have to dig up the pics and get them posted with a story – because that was another memorable hunt!

Just for the simple fact I dont think any of us will see that

In just about every case I would say that's a safe bet. Remember the days before mandatory hunter orange?.....Any Bull? That was a couple years after the statewide elk tag went away.

 Nice animals!
