Great buck stickman! I talked to one of the permit holders and he took a solid 3 point on or near the last day. He told me the same thing tgray mentioned about 3 bucks being taken total. I had seen the BIG ones picture on social media along with mention of special draw. That leads me to believe it is one of the bucks included in the gate keepers harvest total, but no way to know for sure.

I had the tag in 2008 and shot a big bodied 4 point who stepped out to investigate the   sparring match between two little bucks we werè watching. I was told the mucks get to go in the week before the permit guys.

It alternates, maybe ask the watershed guys or WDFW who went in first last time and base you application on that. Probably does not matter though with so few permits and success most likely based on weather, timing related to the rut, and type of hunter. Apply in years when there is a November hunt, be ready to walk lightly on dry leaves for an October hunt. 2017 should be a November hunt.

BTW, 6 killed of 10 permits.
