This is incredibly dangerous for the deer as you can see. Put the food out and keep them in the area and you will obtain the results the trap is theoretically supposed to do but without the potential death. Do some research on the process of antler shedding and you will realize how wrong it would be to put them out. They are not like teeth that need convincing to fall off. Once testosterone levels fall they start the decalcification. After that happens its a matter of hours to drop. Putting anything out that will rip them off is dangerous and unethical end of story.
