Monocular vs binocular

Anyone carry/carried a monocular for bow hunting rather than binos? I'm trying to evaluate if one would even make sense considering I carry my range finder easily accessible. Rifle hunting I carried my binos with a harness but thinking about cutting weight and wanting to see if anyone out there uses one or what opinions you all have.

I wouldn't go hunting without my binoculars.  If you had a 6x rangefinder that would help, but there's no substitute for a good set of binoculars.  The rangefinder is your monocular.  . I use my binocs a ton even when archery hunting, but I'm also more of a spot and stalk or still hunting kind of guy.

 Bought a Vortex monocular 10x25. I don't carry a rangefinder, I shoot recurve instinctualy so rarely think about yardages that way. I useualy pack compact binos in the timber for checking tight spots for body parts, but can't shoot my bow with a harness on and they are a bit cumbersome. The mono is lght, compact, and fits right in my pocket, but they are realy dificult to find your target with. With more practice I'm getting better. Would rather use binos, but the mono in my pocket works better than the binos I left in the truck.

I carry my 6x range finder and when hiking long distance I do carry a small set of binos 10x25 but also keep my larger set in the truck. Guess its more personal preference. Thanks for the feedback.

I carry a 10x mono instead of binos.  I find it to be much easier to use due to my extreme eye dominance/lazy eye issues.  As an added bonus it is easier to carry.  I also use a 6x rangefinder strictly for rangefinding.

I carry my heavy binos almost everywhere..no substitute for me. Only time I don't pack them is on some N ID archery elk hunts where its so thick it doesn't matter.

Binocular.  Usually it's 8-42 for me, but I do use a 6x32 Vortex Viper (discontinued) for BT still hunting in western WA.  The 6x32 has good brightness, extreme depth of field and very wide angle.

I always have my binoculars with the built in rangefinder.  I think your field of view would be greater with binoculars
