TO's
« on: February 15, 2009, 02:18:19 PM »
I might head out intending to photograph deer or elk (and may or may not be successful), but along the way a Target of Opportunity will often present itself.  Sometimes these TO's make the difference between it being a good trip or a great one.  So lets share some of the unexpected nuggets we've found along the way.

I've spent years wandering and photographing whatever I saw, and never got a chance to photograph a badger until the day I took these.  And then I shot two different badgers in the same day!  Thank you Lady Luck.

Nice shots. Really like that last one.

Sure Michelle, if you need higher resolution shots just let me know.  These are shrunk down and lower resolution than the originals by quite a bit.

Oh yeah, those targets I didn't expect are always fun.  I was out looking for sheep in South Dakota when I ran into this prairie dog believe it or not...

Nice shot, Shawn.  She looks like she just swallowed a beer can. :chuckle:

I was up on a high high mountain in a little bowl trying to shoot a couple 170" mule deer when this bang bang bang kept going off about 30 yards away.  I circled around and it was a hairy woodpecker.  I figured you can always shoot big mule deer but you rarely get shots of a hairy woodpecker up close and personal.  When I hiked back out and met up with my buddy Tony he thought I was nuts because I came back with nuthatch and woodpecker photos and no deer.   :dunno:

I can always use more pictures.  You know the kind I need.  Close ups of Eyes, noses, etc, etc.

Thanks for the antelope pic's!  Do you have any close ups of them?  Eyes, nose, ears, etc?

Beautiful shots. I especially like the badger pic's. I appreciate you posting those. I am an enthusiast on all types of wildlife not just deer and elk.

Thanks again.

I'm not a real fan of wild horses, especially when they displace native wildlife, but if I can't find anything else....

Hard to look at pics like these and not be awe struck.

Horses are my favorite of Gods creations... next to a boone & crockett buck.
