Opening a shop in selah
«
on:
February 23, 2017, 08:53:32 AM »
Ok guys I'll be opening a small shop in selah. I have athens bows and will be able to order pretty much anything Lancaster has. I'll have a few bows in stock to shoot and some spot hogg sights vapor trail limb drivers on hand at first. Got everything to tune bows, draw board, chrono etc. Opening first week in March.

Starting small we will see how it goes. It's a hard business to be in.

Good luck! May want to add Kinseys and Jakes as your suppliers also, doest hurt to have multiple suppliers. Also talk to RadSav and see if you can get on board with him for peeps and broadheads.

Hardest part will be to carry name brand bows that already advertise heavy that will keep customers coming to you.

Yea most of the big brands are soaked up in the area and have a wide dealer protection program. I think arrows and accessories will be my biggest thing. Tuning will be a part of business to but it will take a while for the name to spread. And once I get open I will throw up a few adds hunt wa will get me as a sponsor

I'd like to see Element, BE, Carbon Tech and Victory. One thing to keep in mind is there's no real "got to" shop in the Tri-citties. Yeah, there's Ranch and Home and Sportsmans to go buy a bow but no shop a guy can go to for more in depth detailed oriented aspects. I'm not the only guy that drives 2 hours out of the Tri-citties to get work done on my bow. Around here GT, Easton, and Beman are well covered. For bare shafts there's a few more options but showing up and having what you need in stock is pretty hit and miss. It'd be great to see if you could get Phelps and Radsav on as suppliers, I'd love to support their stuff but not having much I can put my hands on near me is a deterrent.

Having indoor shooting available and some kind of league night would keep people coming in. The Washington State Archery Association holds lots of certified papers hoots. Even if you only have the ability to have 4-5lanes people will be coming in the door to shoot and pay a fee to do so. I would imagine this would work great in the wintertime for cash flow. Between the WSAA and Facebook you should be able to get the name out quick.

Best of luck, Demon. This was the only way you could get out of hunting with Drock, eh?

Are you going to have indoor shooting? Definitely interested! Maybe affiliate with that club out in Naches?
