West side alpine lakes

I've been thinking about a overnight trip into the Wonder Mountain Wilderness for a while now. Theres a lake that I want to try to get to, if I can find a route up the 4400ft. ridge to access the wilderness. On a long, steep, off trail hike like this, I'm not going to pack a whole lot of fishing gear, just a flyweight rod/reel and a few spinners. Fresh trout sure would beat Mt. house for dinner. Any recomendations on what spinners I should take? I'll be giveing this one a try in Mid. July, scouting for bear and deer. If I see much bear sign I might go back in August. If much deer sign, I might go again for the Sept. deer hunt.

blue fox size 0 silver, gold or copper...i'd be packing the silver or chrome ones. i'd really be packing a fly rod, but if i was spinner fishing, thats what i'd roll with.

I'd like to take a fly rod but Mine dont break down short enough.

Bank beat me to it. For sure take a couple small panthers. The lack with orange or yellow spots and yellow with black spots.

my buddy and i bought a small yellow boat from REI and took the raft up to a few alpine lakes.  The boat is kick ass, it kid of like the yellow ones you see at a sporting good store.  The sevylor trial boat $65.00, is only 2 pounds, with oars, holds up to 230 pounds and is self inflating with the bag.  The only down  side is few some wind you will be flying across the lake at top speed.  I don't recommend fly fishing from it, because the on going casting motion would start to spin the boat.   

You will be laughing at the expression on the people face when they see you with a boat high up in the alpine lakes area,

I always carry a kastmaster,chrome and chrome blue..4lb test line, a bug net for the face is good to have .Power bait is good also.I will back a float tube sometimes.One lake it spooks them.hope ya catch some
