Alaska Moose/Caribou
« on: March 05, 2017, 10:34:54 PM »
Hi All,

I'm contemplating a moose and maybe caribou hunt in Alaska.  I have a buddy whose from Alaska that I've talked about going with up there, but he's always so busy.  So some buddies of mine are planning on going without him if we have to.  Do you have any suggestions on area for moose that are also decent for taking caribou?  Southwest vs. North vs. Northeast areas? Suggestions on bush pilots, etc.?  Given the timing it'll probably be 2018 for our trip.  I'd rather do DIY, but a reasonably priced guide is possible.  I just don't want to spend $15K-$20K/person on a guided hunt.  Better to go to Canada for less than half that.  So we're looking to plan it ourselves if possible, and arrange bush pilots to get in/out.

Thanks,

Keith
