Thanks guys, lots of room for improvement.  Looking forward to getting my own forge set up and start practicing!

Gas or solid fuel?

i would recommend looking in to a ribbon burner. Very efficient.    Search " ifi forges 101 ".

Dressed up grandpas handled hot cut and made one more for my striking "anvil" (cast steel tractor weight) from 1 3/16" axel.  Did all the work on my vertical rail anvil except upsetting in the modified hardy.

Had to get some stuff and hit one of a couple spots I love to dig for rusty gold!!!!
Mega scores.
2 double pointed pick axe heads, 4 knife blades
2 USA made steel wrenches, one will be a blade, one might turn into a hatchet
A chunk of pipe for my tong rack I'm going to make
Some steel rings for junk yard art
A scarp head from a pick axe with a large flat blade. Ill make a ulu or chopper/cleaver out of it.
Then found a huge score 6 mega sections of band saw blades from the old klickitat mill!!!!!

Then 2 big saw blades from a craigslist score!!!

Good day!!!

Last weekend I attended the Understanding and History of Blacksmithing held at the Northwest Museum of Art in Spokane.

We spent time at the forge and watched a very interesting documentary titled The Devil’s Blacksmith, its about an hour long but I could not find the complete movie, here is what I did find - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCHklYJ7XWqeM9vssHufS8_Q/videos

They also had zombie auditions at the Museum….I passed.
