Just picked up one of these, in the full boat model, (including cerakote) in a 26 Nosler i love it, recoil is minimal, and the rifle is light.

These look like sweet guns and I'm on the verge of buying one of the Hell's Canyon Speed models, but the sales guy at one of my local gun shops warned me that the muzzle brake will ruin my ears without proper ear protection in the field and likely anger any other hunter in the surrounding area because they're so darn loud. The included thread protector reduces the noise of course, but I would want the benefit of the brake out in the woods, especially if I'm packing a larger caliber on a lighter rifle. Does anyone have any input or experiences with this issue?

It is loud, i use ear protection at the range, and the thread cap in the field because i never seem to feel as much recoil in the woods while shooting at actual game. my hells canyon speed in 26 nosler doesn't kick all that bad any how, but i do the same with my 340 wrby.

Good to know. I don't typically run into a lot of other hunters where I hunt either, but I like to be courteous to whoever I share the woods with so I suppose using the thread protector isn't the end of the world. Recoil isn't much of an issue for me either when the big buck adrenaline is going.

I just purchased the hells canyon speed up in 7mm. I haven't shot it yet as I am trying to decide what scope to put on it. I don't hear the noise or feel the recoil when the buck is in the sights. Excited to put some rounds through it
