Outboard Mechanic recomendation
« on: March 15, 2017, 02:56:35 PM »
Hello everyone, I got an old Johnson 70 HP outboard. I would like it to get checked and turned up. Any recommendations on a mechanic. Saw a few on Craigslist but I don't know much about their work. West side is preferred (Pierce County all the way to Tumwater
 Thanks for your recomendations.
Happy Hunting and Fishing

i buy almost all of my parts from tom's(i do my own work mostly), but they have an extremely knowledgeable bunch of people there.  they also have a lot of obsolete parts, the place is like an old johnnyrude boneyard.
you can still get gas in heaven, and a drink in kingdom come,
in the meantime, i'll be cleaning my gun

i have only taken mine to auburn sports since about 1998! Never once have I had an issue! Like any marine  mechanic it's not cheap. The last full PM I did on my 2008 Yamaha 150 was like $700! But they do great work! But you better call super quick for an appointment! Last year I called in around the beginning of April and wanted to get my Prop looked at and it was a 7 week wait! Their busy for a reason! Good luck.

Call "The Boat dock" in Mossyrock...I have been VERY impressed with the service I have received from them lately, very honest father and son team... best pricing I have seen in a long time.

:yeah:
Been taking my stuff to Tom for over 30 years. If you need parts for that motor I might have them.

I was going to recommend the Boat Doc also. Rick and Brad are top notch! I've dealt with them several times. And are my choice for boat repair. Just figured it might be to far away for the O.P.
