Klickitat county Turkeys... Question
« on: March 26, 2017, 10:22:36 AM »
Hey fellow turkey hunters.

Ive been around the turkeys woods in numerous places and now i have been looking around Klickitat county; I realize Im not alone...

I moved to Vancouver, WA 5 years ago and have been learning some of the Washington hunting areas as best as I can. Moving from Oregon and knowing numerous spots, I still buy 3 non resident (not cheap) turkey tags each year. I hunt in various states so research is nothing new. Im a big advocate on public land hunting and chasing wild birds and not afraid to walk/hike/explore.

Ive added this link to a hunting album so you can see a few of the birds taken over the past years; Its a BLAST! (pun intended)

Thanks in advance, any info you can share is greatly appreciated.

There is no secret to Klickitat birds.  They are pretty evenly spread throughout the county and get pressured pretty hard. If you can kill em in the klick, you can kill em anywhere.  Literally just find public access and start walking.

Thats what I figured. I have been pouring over onX maps looking at terrain and habitat. Im booked for the opener in Oregon for three days and my plan is to hunt the area depending on weather during the middle of the week. I know they are there. I have hunted it twice, with a miss... dont ask... and a big ole tom the next time that i worked my butt off for 12 hours.

Ive noticed some big open land near the bottom of the unit that looks promising as well. lots of land to roam.
