If you bleed and ice humpies right away they aren't bad and are actually really good for canning. But we do prefer kings and coho.

IMO, they are not "humpies" until they hit freshwater.  Out of the salt, at least here in the islands, they are Pinks and taste just fine and are nice and firm. It sucks not allowing any extra Pinks, even living here it makes it harder to justify a 35 mile round trip day with the likely harvest of only two small fish. I was hoping to can a crapload of pinks this year.

Lokidog...head a bit further north, pick up a CN license and intercept those Fraser fish...big Springs and the Fraser is expected to get back 7-20 million pinks (target of 8 million but those Canucks like to keep everyone guessing...)

We've been thinking about this, and would be nice to land some Rockfish as well.
