I'm getting my butt kicked.   I average about 70 sheds per year.  High of about 150, low of about 30, but I am usually right in the 70 range. NONE so far this year.  I thought this might be one of those entertaining threads, but I'm not finding crap.  First of all, Mr. doom and gloom.  Its the least amount of deer I have ever seen in the Methow.  Worst I have ever seen it.  Then I went and killed one with my truck Saturday morning.  Five of them pounced in the road off the bank.  A little bit of fancy footwork and I managed to only smack one of them.  Hell they are so frail that smacking one at 50+ didn't hardly leave a dent. THere is a lot of winter left too

Thanks for putting it into perspective.  I couldn't believe it, Banks lake is sSTILL Iced up.  Is spring coming anytime soon?  I can't get to the muleys bones yet, the whitetails are God knows where and the moose bones are still under two feet of snow and the elk are still packing.  LOL   Hell, didn't even see any wolf sign.   Lenore had the beginnnings of the floatilla.  You could almost cross the Yakima on driftboats if you timed it right.  Must be the Blue wing olives......I guess it could be March brown. :dunno:    On a good note, only one part fell off my truck this trip, and I only heard Obamas name about 10 times on the radio.

I guide on the Yak, probably one of those boats you saw the other day. Its still too early for BWO's and March Browns, we're in the height of the Skwala Stone hatch right now, good dry fishing and even better nymph fishing! 65 degree days like today help alot too.

I wondered about the stones, but thought we might be too late for them.  Those are fun to fish.  Pretty crowded for a weekday, but it was the first 60 degree day of the year.  Wind was horrible in out on the stretch/flats  but it didn't seem so bad in the canyon.

The wind on friday was HORRIBLE. If you could get out of the wind and get a dry to float well against the bank you pretty much got a rise. We did well with 26 rises all day and probably 15 fish to the boat, great considering the conditions.

I won't waste your time saying how horribe the deer herd is in the Methow.....where I used to see 300 deer in the basin, there was 35.  I saw about 100 for the day when I usually see 1,000.  OH WELL.  There has to be a few bones out there....
