Anyone fished Williams Lake since the opener?

Just curious how the fishing has been.  I'm supposed to be heading out there soon and wondered what to expect.

I've not been but heard the plant was pretty strong with a bunch of big brood stick. Should be a great year

I got out on sunday.

Caught one small one on the Klink's dock. The person beside me caught a 4 lb'er before I got there and a lady caught a 3.5 lb'er off the dock as I was leaving. plenty of action there right now. If you are hopping in a boat, tree 3 should be biting pretty good.

Everyone on the dock was catching on plain rainbow powerbait. No worms even, a few had some salmon eggs on too.

Good luck, let me know how it goes

Good info on the rainbow power bait, and that website is going in my bookmarks!  I'm heading over Thursday, staying until Sunday I think.  I've always had luck there with red and pink power bait, never been very good at trolling it so I might have to practice that a bit.

4+ lbs off klinks dock is awesome!

I've fished Williams for 30 years, it fishes well into the 1st weekend of June and then slows down.  Lots of people anchor up and do the PB thing...not my style.  You can knock the heck of them with cowbells and wedding rings.  Best way to fish it is a full sink fly line and a leach pattern

Just got back last night.  The fishing was good, but the wind.....  it just never stopped!!  We couldn't hold an anchor for more than a few minutes most of the weekend, so trolling was the way to go.  We did decent, biggest fish on the weekend was 4.25 with 8-9 over the 3lb mark.  I caught a couple small cutthroat and one tiger, but it was obviously mostly rainbows.  It seemed like they would bite on dang near anything!
