I would look for a flag ship used bow. Something like a used Bowtech Experiance. Archery talk has a huge used listing that moves daily. Problem with the ready to shoot packages is low quality rest, quiver and stabilizer that you will want to upgrade. I assisted on two archery day hunts last year and we were on multiple stalks and lots of deer. I have a deer archery tag this year, cannot wait.

Ditto what HotLunch said... Try to pickup a 2nd hand bow CHEAP!  At least that way you can see if you like archery or not. IMO there's plenty of guys who try to make the switch, only to go back to modern.  They pay big $$$ for nice bows and think it's okay to practice a little bit during summer.  They hunt 1 season, harvest zero deer, get mad, and sell their entire setup the following year.   I made to switch to archery 4yrs ago and I'm comfortable out to 60yds.  However i do practice every weekend rain, shine, or snow - benefit of being single/no kids  :chuckle:  My current Hoyt Carbon Element i bought from a friends pawnshop for $275... not bad considering few years earlier it was $1200.
