Whitetail East Okanogan 204,215,233,239
« on: June 08, 2017, 06:43:37 AM »
I got lucky early and drew the HE incentive tag for late whitetail hunt for 204,215,233,239.  Feel fortunate after volunteering to teach HE the rewards of teaching kids I thought was highlight of program,  I guess extra tag makes that thought a little sweeter!  I have not spent much time up north in this region. looking forward to spending good chunk of time in November hunting.  I would appreciate any recommendations on where to focus my efforts.

I sent you a pm, but I know 204 has plenty of whitetail, 215 is much tougher. I can't comment on the other units.

I would hunt 204 only  :twocents:
To hunt and butcher an animal is to recognize that meat is not some abstract form of protein that springs into existence tightly wrapped in cellophane and styrofoam.

Do a little searching on here...you should find a lot of help and maybe a few contacts for those areas. This area comes up every year, usually in July when people who like you have spent little time in the area and pull a great tag. Get past all the negatives about putting in for an area you do not know and read the posts. Couple that with some scouting/fishing trips and you will find it is awesome country with some great animals and a few great people. I would not be surprised if you get a "few" PMs from guys on here about when and where to spend your time. Being the HE tag....THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME!!! I know you do not do it for a thank you from me but we need guys like you to help get the next bunch of hunters off to a good start. Best of luck to you on your hunt!!

Thanks,  I appreciate your comments the HE program is very rewarding. Anyone who enjoys instructing/teaching or loves kids and hunting in general should consider volunteering.  The HE incentive permits are based on order drawn
in sequence, not by preference. So for me, I was drawn as number eleven out of eighteen. My choice was limited to remaining tags available.  I will do some searching on here of past posts reference to north units and thanks again.
Looking forward to this fall!
