Last year a good friend of mine who I went to the police academy with dropped his P320 9mm and it went off and shot himself in the calf. The gun was secured inside a duty holster on his duty belt. Luckily he only had minor injuries.
It appears that the in the news now today is more reports of the P320 failing a drop test.
I'll stick with a Glock.
I did see the recent videos and the letter released by SIG.
Ill start off by saying I'm NEVER happy with recalls of any kind. Ive had dealings with this before with the original LCP and it left a bad taste in my mouth for Ruger ever since.
That being said
A) You make a products long enough sometimes things get over looked. I'm not making excuses its just a fact of mass production.
B) Just about every manufacture has had some kind of recall at some point for one thing or another, including Glock.
C) again not making excuses but its also HOW does the company address the issue.
I saw the letter today and it sounds like ill know the answer by Monday what they plan to do to fix it. IF they handle this well Ill still be happy with Sig although slightly disappointed overall with having to deal with a recall.
couple examples are like when I had my Tundra in for some of their recalls. Toyota handled it well and gave me a free rental car for the day. still an inconvenience but an attempt to make it right.
The LCP recall. again I was not happy BUT they sent a box when they were ready for it all prepaid. and on return I got a hat and an extra magazine. again not happy but it was an attempt to make it right.
I hope Sig handles this well.
