I would suggest John Dudleys nock2 it and silver back. Most people will start you on a strap and that is the beginning and end of many archers. The key to shooting a release is maintaining a surprise several different methods and ways.

Most start out with a strap and then transition to other styles.  Check out YouTube for many examples and opinions, but get yourself to a shop or your local club and try some.  Not all releases work for everyone.  What part of Texas are you in?
