Entiat permit advice from those who know?
« on: October 14, 2007, 07:37:59 PM »
Ok, startin to panic. :dunno:  I'm thinking the weather triggers the migration.  And then That get's the boys all riled up!!  But which is gonna be more of an asset.  The Rut or the migration?  I'm thinkin more snow and a migration might be better huntin?

Was planning on the last 10 days now I'm thinkin the first 10 days?

Any advice

Thanks

SHAG what tag do you have!!! Entiat A,B or C? you need to see what tag you have and when the season for your tag is!!!!A is Rifle (Nov 1-18) B is first season Archery(Nov 20-29) and C is second season Archery(Nov30-Dec8)!!! You can only hunt the time frame for the tag you have!!! Good Luck

Shag,  If your permit is for modern rifle, I would hunt the "last 10 days" if you want to take a big high mountain migrator.  Most of the permit hunters will come over and shoot a decent buck on the first weekend (Nov. 1-5) and go home.  The big boys won't arrive in the Entiat GMU until later; unless we get a freak snow storm.  Right now the snow level is above 3500 feet in the upper valley, not deep and is predicted to go back up next week.  If you plan a 10 day hunt, leave your bullets in camp for the first five days or you'll be going home early.  Have FUN.
