Matching pic on this page: http://www.paquettescamp.com/blackbearhuntingtips.htmMountain Ash is not endemic to Washington, so if we're arguing about which red berry is in the poo, the nod goes to kinnikinnick/bearberry. Lots of mountain ash in the Cascades. Norm Trapp from up on Stevens pass provided a horse packing service and I had him pack me in 5 times to the Frosty Pass-Marys Pass area. He said that after the hucks were gone the bear would start feeding on the Mountain Ash which were plentiful in the area. ALL the drainages had mountain ash. I've seen them, saw mountain ash berries in the poo , and would glass clumps of mountain ash trees/bushes for bear. Not arguing just plain simple facts.

But I mean come on. We're TOTALLY arguing about bear poo.

Not arguing just trying to educate you Now....what caused this bear to BLOW OUT the gravel where the poo impact was on the gravel road?? As seen in Holy Bear Crap thread a couple years ago. Size 10 boot.
Probably eating cascara berries or elderberry especially causing the poo explosion
Wrong!. Its mountain ash fur sure. Check the pics and take a hike in the mountains of WA. Its everywhere. That is definitely not kinnikinnick/bearberry. Kinnikinnick/bearberry is never orange.
I'd probably do the same thing if I ate 25 pounds of plumbs. Well, maybe not in the road, but...
