A spot that is just big and level enough for the size camp I will be setting up surrounded by trees that provide wind breaks, fire wood and a place to crap. I have found in the past if your camp is quite (no generators or music) critters will walk right through the camp even with a fire burning. I don't like spending an hour or more in the vehicle each day driving to my hunting spot. If you can walk from camp and have plenty of game within walking distance I find it to be a much more enjoyable trip.
