Not in Lake Tapps, but in Curlew for several years. One of the best ways I found to learn where the fish really hang out was to troll for them. Interestingly, we often saw fish in spots, but could never get them to bite, but found spots where we rarely saw them, and frequently caught them. They are ambush predators, so I feel that the hi-vis spots were where they sunned themselves and hung out, but the low-vis spots were their hunting grounds.
We trolled big black spinner baits, and purple bucktail spinners, and usually had our best success early and late, like right at daybreak and right at dusk.
We were able to go back to those good spots and could usually find fish casting throughout the day.
