Anyone found stripped Velvet before?

I was cleaning out my pack tonight and had forgotten I threw this in there.

During early elk I came into a wallow and a few fresh rubs and picked up a few intact pieces of stripped velvet from a Bull. Thought it was a cool find and it's surprisingly still intact.

Got me thinking , has anyone else found stripped velvet?

Cool find, I have found velvet on brush before but I didn't keep it.

Yeah, I think I was joking with my buddy that I was gonna keep it and hang my tag on it after late season ends if I strike out.

i just picked up some Caribou velvet last week in Alaska. First time ive seen velvet

ive spent alot of time in the woods and have never found velvet like that. cool find!

I never have, but my dog has a few times when we were out and about. She inhaled that stuff like it was candy.

 Once she found the velvet and then a few minutes later we saw the buck that had rubbed it off. Big high mountain 4 pt with bloody antlers still. Very cool.

I was thinking about doing a minced tag stew with it. Beef Broth with a splash of red wine vinegar, sprinkled gently with basil. The trick is to mince  the tag so fine, you forget it's in there.

I should bring my tags. We could do the hunter's version of Stone Soup! Everyone pitches in a little paper, some Asian cures for limp yang. Lots of bourbon and vodka.
