OnX maps on laptop.
« on: October 07, 2017, 05:49:54 PM »
Is it possible ? I have Montana and Washington chips. Logged into my account @ Onx opened up Washington , put my chip in a card reader and into a USB port and nothing , no landowner info .

I can when I plug my GPS with the chip and bring up the base camp software.  I also have the app purchase so I can access it through the site.  I think if you just have the chip you may need to pass it through the GPS to the computer

Will try hooking up through the GPS. Although a month ago when I updated the chips with the card reader I was able to see all the info then.

I've put my card in the reader and opened Garmin base camp, had to add the layer in.

Now then, get your equipment—your quiver and bow—and go out to the open country to hunt some wild game for me.  Gen. 27:3

Ok Downloaded Garmin base camp , hooked up my Garmin via USB cable and it's now showing me the GMU's , property owners ect. But is there a way to get satellite view  in Base camp ?  All I'm finding is Topo .

Heard back from Onx today. The chips are not compatible with there site. You can only use them with Garmin Basecamp but you don't get a satellite overview. To be able to see landowner info etc on the Onx site you need to buy the state you want to see for $29.99 a year or all 50 states for $99.99 a year.

It uses google earth. You'll need to download it as well.

I do have Google earth downloaded.
Biggfish / goldenhtr.  Are both of you saying that you can view satellite overlays with Garmin Basecamp? Where is the option to do so ?

Not that this is the best fix, but in Base Camp click "View" from the top menu bar and then select "View current map area in Google Earth."
