Thank you Double! I wonder if no one hunts them because they are hard to hit or just because they are tiny and not the best tasting = )
Can they be hunted with an upland dog, or is it best to hunt them solo?

When they spook they make a verifiable sound so you know its a snipe. Once you hear it you will know. I'm usually within shot range when they flush, but its low and fast so I get good shot opportunity solo. However, its not easy to find a tiny bird that blends so well with the grass with out a dog. A good slow pointer would probably be the ticket! If you really want to hunt snipe that is
