Suburban foraging
« on: November 14, 2017, 09:21:16 PM »
Spotted some boletes on the way to work today. All sliced up and spending the night in the dehydrator. Starting to smell so good!

We find several different (I think) but very similar boletes on both sides. Although this is the most I've seen on the wet side, and it's been so dry on the east side that last few years we've found nothing. All get dried, vacuum sealed, and frozen, then get ground up to coat steaks and roasts (and now in a test batch of salami). This batch is almost done, and smells absolutely amazing. Super sexy and funky.
