Beaver tails!
« on: November 27, 2017, 11:40:42 PM »
Hey everybody, are you throwing your beaver tails away? WSTA is collecting them for a fundraiser if you have no use for them.
Turn them in at the Winter Rendezvous or directly to George Brady.
I think Carp Commander might haul some over for us if you live near Richland and can't make the Winter rendezvous.
Any size big or small, mint or damaged. We'll take them all.

George sells them for us. I am not sure of his buyer/buyers. I know the poor ones go for a guy making tail oil. The good ones not sure. I let George get what ever he can out of them.
It is not a huge money maker for us but it is better then tossing them.

You might want to try Mike Monroe he's down in Camas, WA
He makes Knife Sheaths and Belt Buckles from Beavertails.  Give him a call.
I know he has been sick for a while but he might have some laying around or it would give him something to do.
He advertises in The Fur Shed.  Give him a call

I had a bunch tanned, it is such cool leather.  I still have quite a few of them.  I had one made into a wallet for a guy's retirement gift.  He loves it!  They are so easy to peel and flesh.  The place I used to tan them is in Iowa, $6.50 a side.
