My 7mm Weatherby has a 1:10 barrel twist as compared to the 7mm Rem Mag that has a 1:9.25 barrel twist. My question is what's the heaviest grain bullet I can shoot accurately with the 1:10 twist. My research is showing me that a 160 grn bullet is more stable than than the 175 grn. Apparently something happens do to the twist to destablize the bullet beyond 168 grns. My reloads for my 7mm Weatherby before it was stolen was 175 grn nosler partion with 80 grns of H870. Now that I've replaced the stolen 7mm I have to start all over as H870 is no longer manufactured. I'm thinking of having Nosler reload a box or two of their 160 grn accubonds. While they are on sale at $73.00 a box. My goal is to have one hunting load to do everything. Stay with the 175's? The ballistic coefficients for the .284 bullets are really pretty good. I think the 160 grn are better thann the 175.
